Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Cardiac Monitoring Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuous assessment of patients' cardiac rhythms. This position is essential for delivering high-quality care to our patients at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Shift Details:
Full-Time, Nights (over 10-hour shifts) with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and document any significant changes.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate patient care activities.
  • Apply telemetry transmitters to newly admitted patients as per the telemetry orders.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of telemetry patients and document rhythm strips at the beginning of each shift.
  • Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, relaying information accurately and professionally.
  • Ensure the economical and safe use of telemetry supplies and manage discontinued equipment appropriately.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR certification for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
