At The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, we are seeking a talented and ambitious intern to join our team of experts in signal processing and data fusion. As a Cybersecurity Research Assistant, you will be responsible for developing and analyzing advanced algorithms for detection, tracking, and characterization of sophisticated threats. Your contributions will play a critical role in enabling our nation to far out-pace its adversaries.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and analyze novel signal and data processing algorithms for detection, tracking, and characterization of sophisticated threats
  • Collaborate with a highly diverse team of engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists to develop and apply advanced algorithms that intelligently fuse active, passive, multi-band, and multi-static sensor data
  • Optimize multi-sensor architectures by defining the sensor integration, tasking, and coordination required to obtain high-quality fused multi-domain targeting information from multi-spectral and multi-mode sensor capabilities

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.90-$46.45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, Applied Physics, Applied Math, Math, or another related technical field
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Strong problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from varied subject areas and experience levels
