Physical Therapist Supervisor

The Physical Therapist Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services department. This role will provide leadership and support to ensure efficient functioning of the department, including operational, fiscal, and human resources activities. The Supervisor will also provide direct patient care, approximately 20 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, working collaboratively with other supervisors to achieve operational efficiencies and optimal patient satisfaction.
- Conduct studies and provide input related to department performance improvement and productivity standards.
- Facilitate the implementation of care management strategies.
- Manage patient caseloads in assigned areas and organize staff schedules and coverage needs to meet volume and productivity standards, including temporary agency coverage.
- Develop and maintain site-based department policies and procedures.
- Identify, plan, and organize information systems and process improvements in the department.
- Orient new staff to clinical and department policies and procedures, and assign mentors to new staff on rotation.
- Collaborate effectively with system leadership, physicians, and/or committees/work teams in developing, promoting, and enhancing new programs and services, strategies, site projects, standardized competencies, policies, and procedures.
- Work in conjunction with site-based and market teams to meet all local, state, and federal compliance standards, guidelines, and practices.
- Provide input into operating, staff, and capital budgeting processes and be accountable for operating within the budget.
- Perform human resources responsibilities for staff, including coaching on performance, completing performance reviews, and overall staff morale.
Requirements:
- Physical Therapist License issued by the state in which you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in rehabilitation, with experience as a lead or senior-level staff.
