About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at US Derm Support Roles. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
  • Provide support during surgery by providing instruments and other supplies.
  • Position and re-position patients during surgery.
  • Monitor patients during surgery.
  • Responsible for tracking surgical supplies.
  • Check and supply the operating room at the end of scheduled procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment for treating the surgical patient, including safeguards to protect the patient from cross infection.
Clinic Responsibilities
  • Room patients and document vital information.
  • Support providers with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, laser surgery, etc.
  • Educate patients as required after provider establishes the treatment plan. Ensure that the patient understands the treatment plan, understands the proper use of their medications, and understands their responsibility for compliance with the treatment plan prior to leaving the office.
  • Straighten and clean exam rooms after patient visits.
  • Perform nursing procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes without direct provider supervision.
  • Responsible for filling out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients and provides clinical staff with completed documents for data entry.
  • Stock exam rooms and notifies clinical staff of supply needs for replenishment.
  • Perform duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Surgical Technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
  • BCLS certification required.

We are looking for a candidate with 4.3+ years' experience working in a clinical setting or outpatient operating room. Cosmetic surgery experience is a plus, but not required.

What We Offer

We offer a variable part-time schedule of 16 hours per week, with hours from 6:00am to 2:00pm. Our office is located in Bingham Farms, MI, and we are committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment.
