About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Software Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a key member of our Information Technology group, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of mobility.

As a Software Engineer in the Finished Vehicle Logistics Product Team, you will develop and support technologies that deliver and monitor finished vehicle movement from the manufacturing facilities to the customers. You will explore opportunities to improve customer experience, customer satisfaction, and estimated time to arrival for our vehicle orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support software products with end-to-end accountability
  • Approach problem-solving with a learning mindset, curiosity, and determination
  • Develop automated tests with working software to confirm software functionality, user story acceptance, and detect regression defects
  • Review continuous integration build status and fix build failures
  • Improve continuous integration tooling by automating manual processes within the delivery pipeline and improving quality gates based on past learnings
  • Review ongoing production software operations and troubleshoot production issues
  • Implement tooling that monitors application performance metrics and automatically notifies the team when a failure occurs in production
  • Perform exploratory testing to confirm application execution and identify software deficiencies not covered by automated testing
  • Actively participate in all team Agile ceremonies
  • Develop software, often with a paired partner, to deliver user stories that contribute to a valuable working software product
  • Actively manage the long-term delivery roadmap of the software product
  • Select architecture direction with input from the architect

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in Full Stack Java Developer working in Spring Boot
  • 1+ years of experience with SQL - MSSQL, PostGres using native queries and JPA Building restful APIs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Full Stack Java Developer working in Spring Boot
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL - MSSQL, PostGres using native queries and JPA Building restful APIs
  • Has built applications on Microservice-based architecture
  • Expertise with git and version control software like GitHub
  • Knowledge of various Devops tools such as Tekton Ecoboost for CI/CD, Terraform for provisioning services
  • Knowledge of various infrastructure components such as Kafka, Redis, APIGEE
  • Test-driven development
  • Knowledge of GCP tech stack and offerings beneficial
  • Some experience with Angular AI preferable

This position is a salary grade 8.

This position is a range of salary grades 7, 8.
