Police Officer

Under the general direction of a Police Sergeant, the Police Officer performs professional police work in the field. Primary responsibilities include crime suppression, law enforcement, patrol, emergency response, investigations, traffic enforcement, parking enforcement, community policing, and crime prevention.

• Patrol the Evanston or Chicago campus on foot or by vehicle to protect lives and secure property.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance and complete police reports.
• Investigate suspicious activity and issue trespass warnings when appropriate.
• Enforce parking rules and regulations.
• Staff special events as assigned.

• Successful completion of an associate's degree with an accredited college and/or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to successfully complete the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a firearms owner's identification card.
• Must be 21 years of age at the time of application.
• Must be a United States citizen.
