About the Role:
This position requires a Certified Medical Assistant certification and emphasizes teamwork in a clinical environment to ensure patient safety and quality care. The Clinical Support Specialist will work under the direction of a provider, performing clinical duties such as preparing patients, collecting and reviewing pertinent information, performing technical duties, documenting using the electronic medical record, and supporting a safe environment for patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepares patients for examinations by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and completing necessary paperwork.
* Assists providers during minor procedures and ancillary examinations, following established protocols for sterilization and disinfection.
* Performs EKGs, wound dressings, and other clinical tasks as directed by the provider.
* Administers medications according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency.
* Completes patient tests and treatments per provider's order, accurately and efficiently.
* Collects and prepares laboratory specimens, completes associated paperwork, and expedites laboratory studies.
* Performs phlebotomy and assists in specific laboratory functions relative to testing, reporting, and quality assurance of laboratory specimens.
* Provides direct patient care and clinical support, prioritizing effective communication and timely responses to patient needs.

Requirements:
* Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
* Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
* Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or equivalent certification
* Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months (Default Issuing Body)
