We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at First Student. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.
- Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with mobile emergency services.
- Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed - We train.
- At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education.
- Possess a mechanic's tool set.
- Willingness to participate in ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses provided.
- Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $24-$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide an additional $0.25 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain.
