Job Summary:

Fairway Lawns is a leading provider of residential lawncare services, including weed control and fertilization, in addition to complementary services including irrigation, pest control and tree and shrub maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support our operational partners.

The Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services to ensure optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and supplier performance.

This role involves negotiating contracts, managing purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, and building strong supplier relationships.

The Buyer will also contribute to strategic sourcing and market analysis to support the organization's operational and financial goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

Manage the procurement process including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.

Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service.

Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.


Purchase Order and Invoice Management:

Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Monitor open purchase orders and manage supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and reduce delinquency.

Review and resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders, including addressing issues related to pricing, quantities, and delivery.


Supplier Relations:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and efficient procurement.

Address and resolve any issues with suppliers, such as quality concerns or delivery delays.

Conduct supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements or changes as necessary.


Market Research and Analysis:

Perform market research to stay informed about industry trends, new products, and supplier capabilities.

Analyze market conditions and supplier performance to support strategic sourcing decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings.


Inventory and Demand Management:

Collaborate with Operations team to monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of products.

Forecast demand and adjust procurement strategies to align with inventory needs and business objectives.


Contract Management:

Support the Procurement Manager with the draft, review, and management of supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Evaluate contract performance and make recommendations to the Procurement Manager for adjustments or renegotiations as needed.


Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and supplier communications.

Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, spend analysis, and supplier performance to management.


Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Monitor and evaluate supplier adherence to quality standards and contractual obligations.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with a proven track record of managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Proficiency in procurement software, preferably Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
