Job Overview

SHP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer - Plumbing to join our team. As a licensed professional, you will be responsible for designing and developing plumbing systems for building projects, including water distribution, storm drainage, and natural gas distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop design options for plumbing systems, including fixtures and components.
  • Size and select plumbing system components, including pumps and standpipes.
  • Perform field work on facility assessments and audits.
  • Prepare cost estimates for designs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members, including engineers, architects, and interior designers.
  • Manage client and consultant relationships.
  • Provide quality control and review of drawings and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • PE license required.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in designing building systems, including plumbing and fire protection.
  • Strong computer skills utilizing Revit and/or BIM.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to oversee production and direct junior staff.
