We're seeking Medical Surgical Registered Nurses for travel nurse positions in Lynchburg, VA. To be considered, you should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
About the JobAs a Travel Nurse MedSurg, your primary responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments and prioritizing data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. You'll also perform ongoing assessments, provide education and support to patients' families, and document patient findings.
This Medical Surgical Travel Nurse position requires providing bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients. Additionally, you'll prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment. Other tasks include changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs, preparing equipment for physician examination and treatment, educating patients on surgical procedures, participating in discharge planning, and initiating patient education plans.
MedSurg Travel Nurses must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and easily lift 20 pounds. Occasionally, moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
