Greenhouse Assistant

This role is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a greenhouse setting. As a Greenhouse Assistant, you will be working alongside Yavapai College staff and faculty to support the college's mission and goals.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and physically fit individual to assist with various tasks in our greenhouse and outdoor areas. Responsibilities include preparing soil, planting bulbs and seeds, grafting and budding plants, and transplanting seedlings and rooted cuttings. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting problems with the facility and communicating your findings.

To succeed in this role, you must have good knowledge of plants and be able to effectively care for the greenhouse area and other areas of the campus. Excellent communication skills are essential to interact with students, staff, and the public. Knowledge of computerized control systems for maintaining an automated and controlled environment is preferred.

As a student employee at Yavapai College, you will receive a competitive hourly rate of $16.00 per hour, with opportunities to work up to 25 hours per week during the summer and 20 hours per week during the school year.
