About the Position

Joliet Junior College is seeking a Tutoring Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing tutoring and leading workshops to help students succeed in their academic pursuits.

Job Description

The Tutoring Specialist will work closely with students, faculty, and community members to provide exceptional customer service and support. They will maintain accurate records of tutoring activities, participate in staff meetings and trainings, and assist with promoting tutoring services.

Essential Duties

  • Deliver high-quality tutoring services to students in various subjects
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Contribute to departmental and collegiate goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a subject-related area or higher
  • Experience in teaching, tutoring, or delivering support at the post-secondary level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $39,300, based on 28 hours of work per week at $19.04 per hour.
