Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Residential Financial Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of resident transactions, as well as maximizing income opportunities through efficient financial processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.



Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage resident accounts in our property management system (MRI) to ensure accurate and timely posting of rent and utility payments.
  • Generate Statement of Deposit and Accounts (SODA) for all move-outs and cancelled applicants, detailing refunds and charges for damages against security deposit.
  • Process return payments, run delinquency reports, and generate notices for distribution.
  • Validate evictions and ensure accurate processing in accordance with company policies and state laws.
  • Perform account adjustments to ensure all revenue is captured and generate necessary reports to monitor resident status.
  • Support on-site property management teams by responding to inquiries and partnering with regional management to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Review and process property ledger requests, including fees charged to residents and utility billing credits.
  • Work closely with properties to provide support and recommendations for continuous improvement.


Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Four or more years of professional work experience, along with knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in keyboarding and navigating in a windows environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent follow through.


Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Equity Residential offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(k) matching and paid time off.
