We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Mechanic - Equipment Specialist to join our team at Butler Machinery Company in the Vermillion or Yankton area, reporting to Sioux Falls, SD. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of customer equipment in a field service setting.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing fieldwork in outlying areas with possibility of overnight stays
  • Performing work out of a Field Service Truck
  • Handling emergency repair situations after hours as needed
  • Completing service reports, time cards, parts returns, etc., in a timely manner
  • Communicating effectively with customers and supervisor
  • Troubleshooting electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and power trains efficiently and accurately
  • Performing all aspects of repair to Ag, truck, and construction equipment products

Requirements:

  • A two-year Associate Degree or equivalent training and experience
  • Experience in repairs of ag, truck, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to perform some welding and knowledge of cutting torch
  • Self-motivation, organization, and self-sufficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of DBS and BMTS
  • Willingness to travel
  • Pre-employment drug testing conducted
  • A clean driving record and CDL licensing or the ability to obtain CDL
  • Residency within 50 miles of Vermillion or Yankton, SD
