Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for analyzing customer concerns and developing written corrective action reports. This role will also provide quality engineering support for manufacturing, emphasizing defect prevention and continual improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer concerns and develop written corrective and preventative action plans.
- Provide quality engineering support for manufacturing.
- Support QMS through ISO / AS procedures as required.
- Write control plans and administer the statistical process control program.
- Interact with customers on a variety of quality issues.
- Conduct statistical analysis of quality issues.
- Participate in failure mode and effect analysis to identify conditions posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.
- Review engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve quality within cost and other performance requirements.
- Observe conduct of tests at supplier, plant, or field locations to evaluate reliability factors such as numbers and causes of unit failures.
- Analyze preliminary plans and develop quality engineering programs to achieve customer quality objectives.
- Advise and confer with engineers in design review meetings to give quality and reliability findings and recommendations.
- Determine units requiring testing and specify minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
- Monitor failure data generated by customer using product to ascertain potential requirement for product improvement.
- Review subcontractors' proposals for quality programs and submit evaluations for decision.
- Act as the customer point of contact and coordinate all quality activities for domestic and offshore manufacturing facilities.
Requirements:
- Four-year college degree with a minimum of 2 years' quality experience preferred or associate degree with CQE certification and 2 years of quality experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in using IM&T equipment, gauges, scopes, and other specialized equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with JD Edwards/Oracle a plus.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience running AS9100/IS09001 Audits.
