Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
- Prepare patient rooms for new admissions, including setting up equipment and ensuring cleanliness.
- Safeguard patient belongings during transfers and discharges.
- Transport stable patients as needed, maintaining their comfort and safety.
- Ensure confidentiality and security while interacting with patients and their families.
- Manage the cleaning and organization of medical equipment and supplies.
- Perform errands for the nursing unit as required.
- Support licensed personnel in creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
- Execute unit-specific patient care tasks as outlined in the skills checklist.
- Monitor and report any noticeable changes in patients' conditions to the supervising nurse.
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies as necessary.
- Maintain an orderly supply area within the unit.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Communicate efficiently with team members during shifts.
- Address patient inquiries and respond to call lights promptly.
- Adapt care methods to meet the diverse needs of patients, considering their physical and emotional well-being.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform patient care tasks that cater to the specific needs of the patient population served.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
B. Experience: Previous experience in patient care within an acute care setting is advantageous.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: A valid CNA license in the state of employment is required, along with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Work Schedule: Shifts typically run from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Work Type: Per Diem, as needed.
