Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer I will provide technical coordination and support for implementing and sustaining Asset Reliability Processes (ARP) to improve safety, equipment reliability, and product quality at optimum efficiency and costs.
The incumbent will be responsible for local ARP practice implementation and improvement, working with maintenance and operations on asset reliability processes. This position has direct responsibility for ARP projects with low risk.
The primary responsibility of the Reliability Engineer I is to increase asset availability through the utilization of ARP reliability tools, methods, and practices.
The incumbent will participate in special projects and engineering activities to improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance costs, and reduce equipment downtime.
The Reliability Engineer I will participate in annual outage planning processes to minimize downtime and ensure all maintenance performance will achieve equipment reliability.
The incumbent may be required to be on-call and must be available for specific operations or projects. Some travel may be required for training and to support projects.
The successful applicant must demonstrate knowledge of asset reliability technology and systems, with a working knowledge of heavy manufacturing. The incumbent should also possess a basic knowledge of engineering concepts and techniques.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the maintenance manuals, standard maintenance operating procedures, CMMS, equipment reliability databases, and other maintenance-related software systems.
The incumbent will organize and conduct training programs for the maintenance personnel regarding equipment testing and operation, new software, methodologies, and procedures.
The Reliability Engineer I will participate in routine safety and ARP activities, including inspections, audits, visibility tours, and interact with employees and contractors.
The incumbent will analyze equipment repair history, costs, and repetitive repairs to develop and implement proactive repair planning.
The incumbent will conduct non-intrusive inspections and use Predictive Maintenance (PdM) techniques or other ARP tools to maximize equipment life and performance.
The incumbent must manage the interests of all parties in creating and modifying work procedures and equipment and will be responsible for staying abreast of current technology to recommend changes to effect continual asset reliability improvement.
The incumbent will coach and mentor operations and maintenance personnel and contractors on ARP procedures.
The incumbent must perform the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities in accordance with all Federal, State, Provincial, and Local environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Employees must also report any situation that may have a detrimental impact to human health or the environment to their immediate supervisor.
The incumbent will collect, analyze, and report asset performance and work with teams to implement methods to improve performance and sustain existing efficiencies.
The incumbent will develop solutions and provide recommendations for major equipment modifications, renovations, installations, additions, and replacements to facilitate continuous improvement.
The incumbent will support planning and scheduling standard processes to effectively execute all down-days and outages.
The incumbent will collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability personnel to ensure the reliability of equipment on all existing and new assets.
The incumbent will participate in technical studies on equipment and develop corrective action plans to maximize availability and reliability.
The incumbent will facilitate training sessions and assist in identifying skill development needs for plant personnel and contractors to support ARP, maintenance, and safety.
The incumbent will identify critical equipment spares, material, component needs, and coordinate with maintenance, procurement, and stores to identify re-order processes/quantities to minimize downtime by using Reliability Centered Maintenance methodologies.
The incumbent will participate in Failure Analysis on maintenance issues.
The incumbent will assist with Annual Action Planning process.
