Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavior Technician to join our team at Mentor South Bay. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of behavior management programs for individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals served, building trust and rapport through effective communication and empathy.
  • Implement behavior management techniques, utilizing sound judgment and seeking consultation as needed, to promote safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, families, and caregivers to provide effective behavior management and support.
  • Provide education and training to parents and guardians on reinforcement and intervention strategies.
  • Review progress of individuals served, identifying solutions to barriers and making recommendations to supervisors and behavior analysts.
  • Collect and record behavior data, including A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of staff and individual-related information.
  • Complete incident reports as required by agency policy and procedure.
  • Review daily updates for individuals served, implementing new programs and training staff as needed.
  • Attend clinical meetings, including access review meetings, clinical team meetings, and progress conferences.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working with youth, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities
  • RBT Credential preferred
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
