Position Overview: We are currently seeking dedicated drivers for our CATA-sponsored paratransit service in Lansing, MI. Our Paratransit Operators focus on delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring safe and dependable transportation for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver curb-to-curb transportation services for passengers with care and efficiency.
  • Ensure the safety of passengers by securing them properly and assisting with vehicle entry and exit.
  • Greet passengers warmly, process fare payments, and maintain a secure environment.
  • Accurately report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Chauffeur License for the state of MI and a clean driving record.
  • Minimum age of 21 years for insurance compliance.
  • At least 5 years of driving experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
Physical Demands:
  • 10% of work performed indoors in climate-controlled environments.
  • 90% of work conducted outdoors.
  • Physical activities include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and assisting passengers, with the ability to lift or handle significant weight.
  • Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions while performing job duties.
