The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Director of Transfusion Medicine and Medical Director. This is a full-time faculty position at the Full Professor level, reporting directly to the Department Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to the Transfusion Medicine department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
- Develop and implement medical and technical policies, processes, and procedures to advance the academic mission of the institution.
- Collaborate with the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital and Health System to provide excellent patient care and advance research initiatives.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of transfusion medicine specialists to ensure the provision of comprehensive services.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring the efficient use of resources and optimal patient care outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in transfusion medicine and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and services.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
- Fellowship training or equivalent experience in Clinical Pathology.
- Licensed or eligible to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
