Certified Surgical Assistant

Job Summary

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will assist the operating surgeon in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the operating surgeon in care of patients in surgery
  • Perform assigned selected duties, including placement and suturing of surgical drains, patient positioning, and retracting tissues
  • Prepare the surgical site, including draping the patient and preparing ACL grafts
  • Assist with robotic and laparoscopic cases

Requirements:

  • Certified as a Surgical Assistant from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistants or the American Board of Surgical Assistants
  • BLS from American Heart Association
  • Three (3) years of current operating room scrub and/or assisting experience within the last five (5) years preferred
