Senior Firefighter

This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position as a supervisory crew member on the North Dakota Forest Service's Fire Management Program wildland firefighting team.

• Lead less experienced crew members in fire suppression and wildland fire-related activities, including fire prevention, patrol, and prescribed burning.
• Assist the Engine Captain with crew supervision and participate in fire suppression operations.
• Develop leadership and wildland firefighting skills through provided training and work experience.
• Complete hazardous fuels mitigation projects, including operating chainsaws to chop brush and fell small trees.
• Clean, recondition, and store tools and equipment, and be responsible for facility maintenance and cleaning.

• NWCG Fire Fighter Type 1 qualification.
• NWCG Type 5 Incident Commander qualification.
• Successful completion of Work Capacity Test at Arduous level.
• Valid Driver's license.
