Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator is a critical role within our warehouse operations, responsible for safely operating powered material handling equipment to facilitate product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This position requires a strong focus on product safety, quality, and legality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate basic powered material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts, to move products throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy of all transactions and maintain a high level of product integrity.
  • Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, using manual or equipment-assisted methods.
  • Sort and build product to pallets to meet customer expectations and ensure efficient order fulfillment.
  • Apply shrink wrap to pallets using machinery and perform pre- and post-equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain accurate storage locations through daily cycle counts and routine inventory maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other distribution work functions as needed to meet business volume and operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to operate powered material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Must meet all personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection requirements.
  • Ability to work at extended heights and maintain a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer service-driven approach.
  • Strong team player with the ability to follow policies and procedures, read, write, and interpret information, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand for up to 10 hours per day, and intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
  • Must possess visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift and carry items less than 60 pounds.
