Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Server to join our team at Rib Crib BBQ. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests, ensuring that every visit is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greeting and Seating: Greet and seat guests in a timely and courteous manner, using our standard greeting and 12-step service protocol.
  2. Menu Presentation and Sales: Present menus, answer questions, and suggestively sell menu items using sizzle words, ensuring that guests have a clear understanding of our offerings.
  3. Phone and Order Management: Answer phone calls promptly, determine the nature of the call, and direct calls to the appropriate person. Take call-in orders and answer catering questions as needed.
  4. Order Recording and Service: Record guests' orders accurately on the check, relay orders to the kitchen, and serve courses from the kitchen.
  5. Drink and Dessert Service: Prepare and suggest drinks, desserts, and stock service bars as determined by the establishment's size and practices.
  6. Observation and Response: Observe guests' dining experiences and respond to any additional requests, determining when a meal has been completed.
  7. Totals and Payment: Total bills accurately and accept payment or refer patrons to the Cashier.
  8. Counter and Table Maintenance: Clear and reset counters or tables at the conclusion of each meal and shift.
  9. Teamwork and Adaptability: Demonstrate a willingness to assume any responsibility or perform any task to demonstrate that teamwork is part of our operating culture.

Requirements:

  1. Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing as required to serve guests and supervise dining room activities as needed.
  2. Mathematical Skills: Understand basic math concepts as required to total costs and make change.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient use of restaurant equipment, including headsets, microphones, and Aloha or View Touch operating systems.

Education and Experience: Minimum six months of previous restaurant industry experience, as determined by management.

Certifications and Licenses: Food Handler's Permit where applicable.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Position requires standing for long periods, frequently walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, kneeling, or stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting not to exceed 30 pounds.

Working Conditions:

Position is in a climate-controlled establishment, with occasional exposure to brief periods of temperature extremes.
