Pharmacy Technician Job Description

At VG's Grocery, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer service and providing a safe and healthy environment for our customers. As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and other healthcare products to patients.
  • Count, pour, weigh, package, and label products accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain customer profiles and prepare insurance forms.
  • Operate cash registers, process transactions, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Stock and take inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Notify pharmacy managers of low stock levels and recommend ordering procedures.
  • Receive prescriptions and refills from patients and retrieve, count, and package products.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of customer service-oriented pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Suggestive selling and knowledge of products.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store setting with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
