Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Flight Test Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development and testing of novel rotorcraft systems. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of defense technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans for rotorcraft systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and integrate advanced rotorcraft systems.
  • Conduct flight testing and data analysis to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to develop and implement test procedures, ensuring efficient and effective testing.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our rotorcraft systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in flight test engineering, with a focus on rotorcraft systems.
  • Proven expertise in National Airspace System regulations and UAS operating rules.
  • Knowledge of manned and unmanned rotorcraft, including combustion, electric, and hybrid powertrains.
  • Experience with EO/IR/Lidar sensor payloads and test planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong software and documentation experience, with familiarity with Linux-based operating systems.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 107: Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
  • Current or previous Part 61 Commercial or Private Helicopter Pilot certification.
