At United Hospital District, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team on a full-time weekend day shift basis. As a critical member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of patient test results.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment. As a Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing various tests on patient samples in multiple areas of the lab, including Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Blood Bank. Your strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards will ensure that laboratory procedures meet all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Collection and Processing: You will collect and process patient samples with precision, adhering to standard operating procedures to minimize errors.
  • Test Performance and Reporting: You will accurately perform and report waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests, ensuring timely and reliable results.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: You will perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on laboratory analyzers and instruments to optimize their performance.
  • Result Interpretation: You will interpret results for accuracy, completion, and correlation with physiological conditions, identifying and reporting any discrepancies or abnormalities.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Certification by ASCP or equivalent is required.
