Park Maintenance Worker Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Park Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Plainfield Park District. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our parks and recreational facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain various equipment, including mowers, tractors, and vehicles.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Inspect and report any hazards, damage, or vandalism to facilities and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain facilities, including athletic fields, swimming pools, and recreational buildings.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, facilities, and rental areas.
  • Remove trash and debris from parks and recreational facilities.
  • Perform general turf maintenance, including watering, mowing, and fertilization.
  • Perform landscape maintenance, including trimming, pruning, and planting.
  • Assist with ice making, ice maintenance, snow plowing, and snow removal.
  • Perform manual labor and assist with other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Practical knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
