Project Controls Engineer

X Energy, LLC is a leading nuclear reactor and fuel design engineering company, developing Generation IV high-temp gas cooled nuclear reactors and the TRISO-X fuel to power them. Our primary function is to produce clean, carbon-free electricity or high-temperature process steam.

Key Objectives:

  • Develop designs that provide advantages in sustainability, economics, reliability, and safety relative to current day power generation units.

Job Summary:

X Energy, LLC is seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide project controls support to program and project leadership, assisting in the development and maintenance of project schedules, tracking and monitoring project budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts, and preparing cost reports and financial analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project controls support to project teams.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring accurate timelines and resource allocation.
  • Support program/project leadership in collecting progress and performance updates and updating schedules to reflect actual progress and changes.
  • Track and monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts for assigned program/projects.
  • Prepare cost reports and financial analyses.
  • Help identify project risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain risk registers and ensure timely updates.
  • Create and distribute project status reports and performance dashboards to program/project leadership.
  • Support the development of project metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and performance.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Able to execute the core tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Typically, five plus years experience in engineering, project management or related industry experience.
  • Experience utilizing the industry-known best practices in at least one of the areas below:
    • Planning and scheduling
    • Cost management
    • Estimating
    • Change management and trends
  • Experience using project management software applications.

Compensation:

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

  • Engineer III, (Project Controls) $131,000 to $167,900.
  • Engineer IV, (Project Controls) $159,000 to $204,125.
