Landscape Laborer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Port of Morrow. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of all Port owned grounds and facilities.

• Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties as assigned by the Lead Landscaper.
• Maintain lawns, gardens, and other outdoor areas using hand, power, or riding equipment.
• Operate various pieces of large equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
• Assist with snow removal, ice melt application, and other seasonal tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including raking, mulching, and pruning.
• Water plants and grass as needed to maintain a healthy and visually appealing landscape.
• Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing and starting them up in the spring.
• Set up tables and chairs for conference room meetings as directed by Administration.
• Decorate, maintain, and remove decorations for holidays throughout the Port facilities.

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Pesticide/Herbicide applicator license a plus.
• Heavy equipment experience a plus.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in different climates, including cold, wet, hot, and windy conditions.
• Ability to stand for long periods, including bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Working conditions include working alone and with others, working outside in varying weather conditions, and frequent interruptions. The candidate may be required to work in an environment where there are fumes, building temperature fluctuations, noise, chemicals, poor ventilation, dirt, dust, chemicals, and extreme outside weather temperatures.
