Purpose

The Information Technology department at Equus requires a team to provide operational and technical support. The Cloud Operations Manager is responsible for managing the Equus cloud computing system on a daily basis to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.

Duties
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of cloud-based systems and services.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and services, assessing system performance to ensure optimum functionality.
  • Work with other team members to analyze and improve cloud-based applications and services.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to develop and implement cloud strategies that align with business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for cloud architecture and design.
  • Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure for efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain cloud security protocols to ensure the safety and integrity of data and systems.
  • Manage cloud vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful cloud adoption and integration.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud systems and data.
Qualifications

Required Experience and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing cloud infrastructure in a mid to large organization.
  • 10 years or more experience in cloud computing, networking, and security.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, as well as relevant work experience in cloud computing, IT operations, or infrastructure management.
  • Azure Certification in cloud computing preferred.

Preferred Experience and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with different teams.
  • Strong technical skills as well as excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of current industry best practices for cloud computing and identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Exposure to global business structures preferred.
