UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team in Chapel Hill, NC. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in optimizing medication use and drug distribution services for our patients.
Responsibilities- Medication Optimization: Receive and interpret prescriptions, review patient medication profiles, and clarify incomplete or inaccurate prescriptions with prescribers or other healthcare professionals.
- Clinical Services: Utilize patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations, assess medication therapy regimens, and make clinical interventions with providers.
- Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Compound and oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products, using standard formulas and procedures.
- Formulary Management: Comply with medication formulary and therapeutic substitution programs to optimize drug therapy while minimizing costs.
- Documentation and Communication: Complete required documentation, counsel patients and family members on pharmaceutical care issues, and direct workflow of the shift.
- Leadership and Training: Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and volunteers, and participate in process improvement opportunities.
- Education: PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree
- Licensure/Certification: Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment
- Experience: No prior experience required
