Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Kenton Community Health Center. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional oral health care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing direct provision of oral hygiene and preventive services to dental patients. This includes conducting oral health assessments, providing dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, sealant application, and fluoride application. You will also be responsible for providing oral health education and individual counseling to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct provision of oral hygiene and preventive services to dental patients
  • Conduct oral health assessments and provide dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, sealant application, and fluoride application
  • Provide oral health education and individual counseling to patients
  • Assist in the oral health management of all dental patients
  • Obtain baseline oral hygiene assessment data and record treatment in patient dental records
  • Integrate patient oral hygiene care with other healthcare professionals involved in patient health care management
  • Organize and perform preventive oral health presentations at on-site and off-site locations
  • Assist in the provision of technical assistance and health education in the community as requested
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement Program and serve on committees as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene
  • Unrestricted license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Ohio
  • CPR-BLS (basic life support) required
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers
  • Ability to work with a culturally-diverse staff and patient population
