As an Automotive Service Technician at First Student, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of Gas Chevy Type A and Diesel IC Type C school buses, ensuring their readiness and safety. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance checks.
- Diagnosing and executing all phases of vehicle and equipment repairs, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Completing work orders with accuracy.
- Providing assistance with mobile emergency services.
- Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain a CDL while employed (training provided).
- 1 - 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or relevant technical school education.
- Possession of a personal mechanics tool set.
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program, with training, testing, and bonuses provided.
- Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee; compliance with DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 is mandatory.
