Housekeeping Aide

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Aide to join our team at Wolfe County Health & Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the physical cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance of the inside of the facility and its equipment and furnishings.
- Work with the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to implement recommended changes as required.
- Ensure that all housekeeping procedures are followed in accordance with all established policies and procedures.
- Clean designated outside areas, scrub porches, patios, etc.
- Provide daily cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing of all resident and public areas.
- Provide periodic cleaning of windows, walls, floor waxing, and polishing. Furniture washing, polishing upholstery cleaning, etc., as assigned.
- Ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and orderly throughout the day.
- Ensure that trash/waste is discarded to properly labeled containers.
- Reline trash receptacles with correct liners to ensure that all waste is identified correctly and discarded properly.
- Present a clean, personable appearance to visitors and others.
- Refer all questions about the facility and residents to Supervisors.
- Perform all cleaning assignments in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as, with our established policies and procedures.
- Report all accidents/incidents as established by facility policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Basic understanding of cleaning.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks with minimum supervision.
- Must possess the ability to follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with other employees, management, visitors, outside contractors, and the general public.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
- Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to raise arms over head in order to lift or reach the top of surfaces for cleaning.
- Must be able to stoop and bend over in order to pick up objects, wipe baseboards, or clean and sanitize bath tubes and showers.
- Must be able to push or pull objects in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
- May be required to attend activities outside the facility to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
- May be required to work holidays, weekends, or evenings.
- Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Pursuant to the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, all employees must remain drug-free and alcohol-free when reporting to work, while at work, and while engaged in any work-related activities.
- Comply with all Healthcare Act rules and regulations and any related laws and regulations.
