Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse B-Cath Lab Holding is responsible for demonstrating foundational competencies in both non-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures, as well as perianesthesia nursing for patients who are stable, unstable, or fragile. This role requires the use of discretion and independent judgment to prioritize, coordinate, and deliver quality patient-centered care that is appropriate for various age groups and developmental stages, all within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) is performed with minimal supervision and in alignment with the established Professional Practice Model to ensure proficient individualized care that addresses physical, psychosocial, and spiritual wellness. Additionally, compassionate bereavement support is provided as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:
An Associate of Science Degree in nursing is required. Candidates hired must enroll in a Bachelor of Science Degree nursing program within six months of employment, with an expected completion timeline of two and a half years. A minimum of one year of experience in Cath Lab, ICU, or ED is required. Clinical Nurses in this role may be eligible for promotion to the CN-C classification upon meeting specific criteria outlined in the Clinical Nurse Ladder handbook.

Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a fundamental understanding of cardiac procedural and perianesthesia nursing. A solid grasp of cardiac conditions, differentiating between healthy and unhealthy heart function, is essential. The ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and a commitment to ongoing professional development in procedural and perianesthesia nursing are crucial. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards is required. Professional behavior must be maintained at all times, especially under pressure.

Licensure and Certifications:
An active California Registered Nurse (RN) License is mandatory. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association are required. Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment (BART) course or equivalent is necessary within six months of hire.
