Surgical Technologist, CVOR, Complex Procedures

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of complex surgical procedures, working closely with our team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:- Implement and evaluate care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures in the CVOR.
- Provide care to patients with complex health issues and serve as a clinical resource to staff.
- Lead service area-based committees and participate in the development and revision of procedure protocols, unit-based forms, and specialty clinical pathways.
- Identify and communicate researchable problems and participate in unit-based and hospital-wide performance improvement programs.
- Assist in identifying staff and patient education needs and recommend appropriate in-service.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training.
- Two years of multispecialty experience with one year in a complex specialty area, such as CVOR, Complex Neuro Procedures, Large Organ Transplant, or Reconstructive Surgery.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
The Surgical Technologist will be required to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, and other environmental hazards.
