The Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist is responsible for executing a variety of technical competencies utilized during cardiac and vascular interventions conducted in specialized laboratories. This role involves operating sophisticated equipment and tools under the guidance of a licensed independent practitioner (LIP). The specialist is adept in all facets of angiography, including patient preparation, evaluation, documentation, and monitoring, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures for safe and efficient patient care.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or eligibility to obtain RCIS/RCES certification within a specified timeframe.
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification.

Ongoing Employment Requirements:
- Maintenance of current RCIS or RCES certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification.

Experience:
Mandatory:
- Prior experience as mandated by Cardiovascular Credentialing International.

Preferred:
- A minimum of one year of invasive cardiology experience.
- PALS and ACLS certifications.

Educational Background:
Mandatory:
- Graduation from an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology, or equivalent education and experience meeting the eligibility criteria for RCIS or RCES certification.

Preferred:
- N/A

Independent Responsibilities:
- Capability to perform in both scrub and monitoring roles during diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Supervisory Duties:
- N/A

Additional Position Requirements:
- Shift rotations and schedules will be coordinated with management.
- Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to meet staffing demands.
- On-call, weekend, and after-hours coverage may be required based on workload.
- Cardiovascular Specialists are considered essential personnel and may need to report to work as per organizational policies.

- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs.

Other Requirements:
- Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious materials.
- Activities include prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and repetitive motions.
