Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Operations Manager to oversee the daily activities of our Shipping Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cost-effective shipping methods while ensuring timely delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain all company shipping policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to team members as needed.
  • Conduct daily shift overlap meetings with on-coming shift supervisors to minimize errors.
  • Coordinate forklift operators to ensure efficient loading of trailers according to customer specifications.
  • Schedule deliveries using the most cost-efficient and time-saving methods possible.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Prepare accurate bills of lading and review forklift inspection sheets daily.
  • Ensure warehouse management is properly maintained and stocked.
  • Perform warehouse inventory, audit control, and management oversight.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in the paper mill industry is preferred.
  • Able to speak, read, comprehend, and write legible in English.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Qualified forklift and/or clamp operator.
  • Candidates with prior military experience as a first-line supervisor or one year experience as a forklift operator are preferred.
  • Supervisory experience as a proven manager/leader is required.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and listen.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
