Key Responsibilities
  • Visit all meal sites monthly to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist meal sites at special events and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective work relations with supervisors, co-workers, and grantees.
  • Plan, arrange, and conduct educational programs dealing with nutrition for the public.
  • Prepare clear, sound, accurate information for PowerPoints and presentation materials.
  • Interpret and transmit current scientific information regarding food, nutrition, diet, and health to the public.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Ensure food service operations are conducted according to state and local health department standards.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance initiatives to ensure ongoing quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Home Economics with an emphasis on nutrition, Food and Nutrition, Community Dietetics, or Dietetics.
  • Current and valid Certification as a Registered Dietician/Registered Dietetic Technician issued by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license.
  • Ability to pass NJ State Certified Food Manager Test every 5 years and other food sanitation tests (i.e. ServSafe).
