About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our oncology department at Fetch Veterinary. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to pets with cancer and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including handling, restraint, and medication administration.
  • Obtain thorough patient history and vital signs, ensuring accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies needed for procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Monitor and document patient progress during treatment, providing timely updates to veterinarians and owners.
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures, including blood work, cytology, and radiology, to aid in accurate diagnoses.
  • Administer treatments, such as chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Assist with procedures, including ultrasound, biopsy, CT, and other specialized treatments, requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Monitor patients during anesthetic procedures and recovery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide support to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis through educational and compassionate interactions, offering emotional support and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Fetch Veterinary's standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a veterinary technician preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an oncology setting highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
