Job Overview:
We are in search of a skilled and driven Commercial Kitchen Equipment Technician to join our workforce. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in the repair and upkeep of commercial kitchen appliances, outstanding troubleshooting abilities, and a strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer service. This position entails diagnosing, repairing, and servicing various commercial kitchen devices and systems to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse array of commercial kitchen appliances, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, fryers, mixers, and HVAC systems.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and gas-related issues in kitchen appliances and systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and to avert unexpected failures.
- Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service by effectively communicating with clients, clarifying repair processes, and proposing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed in line with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all repairs, services, and parts utilized. Prepare and submit service reports and invoices in a timely manner.
- Inventory Management: Monitor tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory. Order and replenish supplies as necessary.
- Training and Development: Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing education and training.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in appliance repair, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and gas systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as EPA 608, CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association) certification, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Driving License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record as per company policy.
- Background Screening: Must successfully pass a background screening.
- Physical Requirements: Capability to lift heavy equipment, stand, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills to efficiently identify and resolve issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and work independently or collaboratively.
- Customer Focus: Committed to delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ability to lift and carry weights between 50 to 75 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and heavy lifting equipment.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments, including confined spaces and heights.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and climb ladders.
- Frequent travel to various work site locations.
- Exposure to electrical, steam, and high heat units necessitating extreme caution and safety equipment.
