POSITION OVERVIEW

The main objective of this role is to assist licensed personnel by delivering direct care to residents and executing Medication Aide duties, alongside Nurse Aide responsibilities. This encompasses, but is not limited to, the administration of medications as instructed, while also addressing the personal needs and comfort of residents under the guidance of a Nurse, adhering to the current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as Independence House policies and procedures, ethical standards, and resident rights.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility 1: Exhibit the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care tailored to the needs of the residents in the assigned neighborhood, facilitating the identification and reporting of any changes in resident condition or behavior.

Responsibility 2: Deliver direct care to residents and prepare their rooms as directed by nursing staff to meet resident needs and ensure safety.

Responsibility 3: Coordinate appointments and transportation, complete necessary paperwork for residents regarding transportation and medical appointments, and relay information to residents, while inputting charges and resident information into clinical software.

Responsibility 4: Enter charges and resident information into clinical software under the supervision of a nurse.

Responsibility 5: Demonstrate service excellence by embodying the mission, vision, and values of the organization to enhance resident satisfaction.

Responsibility 6: Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and practices to ensure high-quality job performance and compliance with regulations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification from the State of Ohio Nurse Aide Registry
  • Medication Aide certification
  • Must possess corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Excellent communication skills are required for daily tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents.
  • Basic understanding of aging principles and related challenges, with the ability to assess data reflective of resident status and interpret necessary information to identify each resident's needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role necessitates a full range of motion, including intermittent activities such as walking, sitting, lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and standing. The associate will be required to lift 50 pounds or more and perform lifts above shoulder height.

Note: This position may involve potential occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
