Under the direction of a physician, you will perform various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures, including airway management, ventilator management, and oxygen delivery device management. You will also be responsible for patient assessments, instituting respiratory care plans, and participating in CAP and JC surveys. This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory care principles, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. Responsibilities:

  • Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Perform emergency response procedures, including Code Blue and White response.
  • Manage airways, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
  • Deliver aerosolized drugs and ventilator management.
  • Perform oral hygiene, airway retaining device placement and maintenance, and airway support device management.
  • Monitor oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring.
  • Analyze chest films and blood gas collections.
  • Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
  • Function as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
  • Perform advanced practice skills, including therapeutic gas management and monitoring, pulmonary function testing, and bronchoscopy assist.

Requirements:

  • See licensure and/or certification requirements.
  • 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • RCP License in the state of employment required.
  • BLS required.
  • CRT through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • PALS certification required.
