The Digital Payment Solutions Team is committed to delivering exceptional digital payment services to a global clientele. Our goal is to ensure a seamless and secure payment process while maximizing revenue and minimizing risk, providing the necessary expertise to adapt to the evolving demands of the business.
The Lead Software Architect will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable enterprise services and microservices related to payment gateways, token management, fraud detection, digital wallets, and more. This individual will be instrumental in enhancing our digital payment systems, focusing on their stability, security, and efficiency. The Architect will oversee the technical aspects of the design, development, and implementation of services to meet our digital payment processing requirements. Collaboration with product management, software development, quality assurance, and support teams will be essential for the successful deployment of our digital payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical direction, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain high-performance enterprise services and microservices that support our digital payments infrastructure, including payment gateways, token management, digital wallets, and fraud detection systems.
- Promote modern software engineering practices through design reviews and adherence to best practices.
- Engage in system design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, conducting code reviews, and utilizing data/telemetry for informed decision-making.
- Develop top-tier engineering solutions by ensuring services and components are modular, reusable, secure, reliable, and actively monitored.
- Enhance test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and address identified issues.
- Evaluate testability, portability, reliability, and maintainability, understanding when code is ready for deployment.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of business needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and drive the implementation of scalable and reliable digital payment solutions.
- Conduct thorough technical analyses of payment-related systems and processes, identifying areas for enhancement and proposing innovative solutions to improve efficiency, security, and user experience.
- Work with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of services in a highly available and scalable production environment.
- Adopt a data-driven approach to address business needs.
- Troubleshoot and optimize automation, reliability, and monitoring for delivered products.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends and advancements in digital payments, microservices architecture, and fraud detection techniques, applying this knowledge to drive innovation in our digital payment systems.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in designing and developing enterprise services and microservices architecture, particularly in the digital payments sector.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C#/.NET (preferred), Python, Java, or JavaScript, with solid experience in frameworks like Spring Boot or Django.
- Proven expertise in building and integrating payment gateways, token management systems, fraud detection, and digital wallets, with a deep understanding of relevant protocols and standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, OAuth, EMV).
- Experience with CyberSource Payment Gateways, Token Management, and Fraud and Risk Management integrations.
- Familiarity with scalable cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and related services such as serverless computing, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficient in modern software development tools, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for building scalable and maintainable systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of effective collaboration in cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 10+ years of technical engineering experience in .NET development, including languages such as C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 8+ years of technical engineering experience in .NET development.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in successfully managing the delivery of technology solutions.
- Consulting or leadership experience.
- Experience with both legacy and emerging technology solutions.
