At Metropolitan Family Services, we are committed to providing comprehensive support services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence. As a DV Advocate, you will play a critical role in empowering survivors to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct housing support services to survivors of domestic violence, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support.
  • Assess and respond to the needs of survivors, using short-term, strengths-based interventions.
  • Develop and implement housing service plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with community-based resources to provide comprehensive services to clients.
  • Administer assessments and outcome tools to track client progress.
  • Participate in team-oriented approach to provide comprehensive services to clients.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work within contract, grant, and program expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date on current developments in the field of domestic violence.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, plus 4 years' work experience, or Associate's degree, plus 2 years' work experience, preferably in the field of gender-based violence or social services.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field, with experience in social services and/or the field of gender-based violence.
  • Preferred: Bi-lingual/Spanish.
  • Training: 40-hour Domestic Violence training preferred at time of hire.
