Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at Mass., Inc. as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, conducting biopsychosocial assessments and ordering psychopharmacological interventions to provide the best possible care for our clients.

About the Role: As an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting client history and physical exams, diagnostic evaluations, clinical risk assessments, and ongoing psychopharmacological treatment. You will also provide active treatment for individuals committed to our program, perform additional clinical assessments, and consult with community providers. Your expertise will help us deliver quality care and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Order and manage psychopharmacological interventions, including medications and other treatments.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families on mental health topics and substance abuse prevention.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate client care and ensure seamless transitions between services.
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics, meeting state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in policy development discussions and contribute to the improvement of our services.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in psychiatric advanced practice nursing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and certification as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) in Massachusetts.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric theory, assessment methods, and evidence-based treatments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information discreetly, and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
