About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mill Operations Manager to join our team at Alta Forest Products LLC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our sawmill, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the mill operations team, ensuring that all activities are aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement processes and procedures to optimize mill performance, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency.
- Safety and Quality: Ensure that all safety protocols and quality standards are met, and that the mill operates in a safe and healthy environment for all employees.
- Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, providing training and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, engineering, and sales, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis: Identify and analyze problems, and develop solutions to improve mill performance and reduce costs.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Forestry, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3+ years of leadership experience in lumber or wood products manufacturing.
- Skills: Proven track record of leadership and management, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive Salary: $105,500 - $118,000 per year.
