About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ID/OD Grind Machinist Technician to join our dynamic team at Component Repair Technologies, Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality turbine engine components to exacting specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate horizontal and vertical grind equipment to achieve precise dimensions on a variety of turbine engine components.
  • Select, install, and dress grinding wheels, and ensure accurate alignment and concentricity using various work holding devices and measuring tools.
  • Follow written and verbal work instructions and use approved gages and tools to inspect parts for quality.
  • Accurately record findings on provided work instructions and documentation.
  • Contribute to the training and development of other team members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating vertical and horizontal grind, hone, and lathe equipment (CNC or manual) in a job shop or MTO environment.
  • Proven track record in creative problem-solving related to machine setups, CNC programming, tooling/grinding wheels, and fixturing.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, critical dimensioning, and the relationship between dimensions.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit speeds, feeds, tool offsets, and fixture offsets on CNC grind equipment.
  • Experience or knowledge of rework, setting zero work offset with grinding wheels, understanding grinding wheel differences, and contributing to process development and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills
  • Familiarity with shop math principles and basic trigonometry.
  • Technical drawing and documentation reading ability.
  • General skills such as use of hand-held power tools, files, assembly, and disassembly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
